Viewers navigation

The navigation controls are located in the top-right corner of the viewer and also using the viewer itself.

All viewers have the next navigation controls:

Zoom

Zoom action can be performed by the mouse wheel or clicking in zoom button (+ or -).

In Map & Oblique viewers a zoom action can also be performed by pressing Shift key and dragging with the mouse a rectangle in the viewer. The viewer is zoomed to that extent. Another way to zoom in or out in these viewers is a double-click with the mouse in a point in the viewer to zoom in, and a double-click with the mouse and the Shift key pressed to zoom out.

In 3D viewers a zoom action can also be performed by clicking and dragging in the viewer with the right mouse button.

In mobile devices zoom is handled in standard way with double finger touch and scale.

Panning

Panning action can be performed by clic and drag on the viewer. No button available for this functionality.

In mobile devices panning is in standard way with one finger dragging.

In Map & Oblique viewers a panning action can also be performed by clicking in the Arrow keys in the keyboard. The viewer is panned in the direction of the key pressed a given amount of distance.

Rotation

A fast way to rotate a viewer is using the viewer itself:

  • In Map & Oblique viewers press Control key and drag with the mouse, or rotate two fingers in the screen of touch devices.
  • In Street viewers just click and drag to rotate and also change the pitch of the view.
  • In 3D viewers press Control key and drag with the mouse, or rotate with two fingers in the screen of touch devices. That rotates the view around a central point. Also you can press Shift key and drag (no equivalent in touch devices) to rotate the view around the current location of the camera in the globe scene.

There are three types of rotation controls:

Map & Oblique rotator

The Map & Oblique rotator control is only available for Map & Oblique viewers.

It can be defined as the rotation control in a workspace setting.

The Map & Oblique rotator rotates the view by cliking on:

  • Direction buttons (N, W, S, E): rotates the viewer so it shows the upper part of the viewer pointed in the selected direction.
  • Central button: switches the viewer between Map mode and Oblique mode. In Map mode oblique imagery is never loaded, no matter the resolution. In Oblique mode oblique imagery is loaded depending on availability and resolution. In this mode the viewer also switches between orthographic imagery and an oblique continuous mosaic ortho-referenced if that imagery is available at certain resolutions. This button is shown as independent button when the Generic rotator is used in a Map & Oblique viewer.

Generic rotator

The Generic rotator is available for all types of viewers and usually the default one.

The Generic rotator rotates the view by clicking on:

  • Up star button: rotates to 0º North degrees.
  • Down double arrow button: rotates current view 180º degrees, flipping the view.
  • Left arrow button: rotates 90º degrees clockwise.
  • Right arrow button: rotates 90º degrees counterclockwise.
  • Central arrow button: shows the cardinal angle direction. The click and drag on this control allow to adjust the rotation angle to a non-fixed orientation, as when clicking and dragging in the viewer. The button also can be double clicked. The behaviour is different for each type of viewer:
    • Map & Oblique viewers: a double click in this button rotates to 0º North degrees.
    • Street viewers: a double click in this button rotates to 0º North degrees and resets any pitch in the viewer to zero, and only for this type of viewers a Control key + double click is available that rotates to vehicle direction.
    • 3D viewers: a double click in this button rotates to 0º North degrees and also resets any pitch or roll in the viewer to zero.

North control

The North control is a reduced version of the Generic rotator that is shown instead this when the size in screen of the viewer is too small, or is not the active viewer, or as a complement to Map & Oblique rotator.

The North control shows the cardinal angle direction. If clicked then viewer is rotated to 0º North degrees.
